Imagine going online to choose a spa for a massage. You find several websites with menus listing possible massage choices, but none of the sites provide prices. Comparing the costs is impossible without calling each business to ask — a time-consuming task.
That scenario is played out again and again for people researching options for plastic surgery. In Indianapolis, where my practice is located, and throughout the nation, it’s rare for a practice to list the prices of its services. I happen to be one of the few who do provide the costs of procedures on the financing page of my website, and I do so for a couple of reasons.
It’s convenient for the patient. While you should not select a plastic surgeon simply because they offer a less expensive option than other surgeons, knowing the cost of an elective cosmetic procedure can save both the patient and surgeon time. Why wait until your consultation to discover that the procedure exceeds your budget?
It establishes trust between the surgeon and patient. I believe my patients appreciate that I’m upfront about the cost of my services. It removes any awkwardness during your initial consultation, allowing us to focus on the cosmetic procedure that you desire.
